The Joint Commission
December 15, 2008 – FRISCO, TEXAS – Legacy ER has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™ by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety.
"Achieving accreditation demonstrates Legacy ER has voluntarily sought an independent evaluation of its compliance with state-of-the-art performance standards," says Michael Kulczycki, executive director, Ambulatory Care Accreditation Program, The Joint Commission.
"We sought accreditation for our organization because we want patients to rest assured that we offer the best care," says Steven E. Martz, M.D., one of three founding physicians with Legacy ER, a freestanding emergency room and urgent care facility in Frisco. "We view obtaining Joint Commission accreditation as another step toward excellence."
The Joint Commission conducted an on-site evaluation of Legacy ER in October. The accreditation award recognizes Legacy ER’s dedication to complying with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards on a continuous basis.
